Gemotions

The gentle lapping of the waves against the shore was a soothing sound. Chloe sat on the sand, her toes buried in the cool grains. The last interview was a week ago. She felt good about it.

She watched the seagulls, and the distant boats. She felt the warmth on her skin from the sun. She decided to spend the day at the beach.

She opened her phone and saw a message from Sarah.

"Hey! Any word?"

Chloe tapped out a reply. "Nope. How about you?"

"Nothing," Sarah replied, the message arriving almost immediately. "It’s driving me nuts."

Chloe shrugged, a barely perceptible movement. She took a deep breath of salty air. There were worse things than waiting.
